cantharides999
Hi, I've installed a usb 3.0 host controller card in the unraid server. I checked the system devices tab and the controller seems to be detected: IOMMU group 11 [1912:0015] 03:00.0 USB controller: Renesas Technology Corp. uPD720202 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 02) However if I connect a drive to the usb ports, the drives don't appear in the "unassigned" drives list. Is this normal ? Are only sata drives added to the unassigned drives. Just needing the usb 3.0 ports to preclear drives since no free sata slots anymore in my system. Thanks for the help. JorgeB
They should be detected, diagnostics may give a clue. Quote Link to comment
cantharides999
Extracted this part out of the hardware section, seems to be no issues with the newly installed controller on unraid. </resources> <node id="usb" class="bus" handle="PCI:0000:03:00.0"> <description>USB controller</description> <product>uPD720202 USB 3.0 Host Controller</product> <vendor>Renesas Technology Corp.</vendor> <physid>0</physid> <businfo>pci@0000:03:00.0</businfo> <version>02</version> <width units="bits">64</width> <clock units="Hz">33000000</clock> <configuration> <setting id="latency" value="0" /> </configuration> <capabilities> <capability id="pm" >Power Management</capability> <capability id="msi" >Message Signalled Interrupts</capability> <capability id="msix" >MSI-X</capability> <capability id="pciexpress" >PCI Express</capability> <capability id="xhci" /> <capability id="cap_list" >PCI capabilities listing</capability> </capabilities> <resources> The disk is connected to the controller through a sata to usb3 converter (also new). I will check the functionality of the converter on another machine first. Quote Link to comment
cantharides999
Tested my sata to usb converter on another machine without issues. I'm a bit clueless here. Quote Link to comment
