Jcloud
I saw this Female USB-A header to USB2-internal header adapter, I've ordered two for myself to try. Looks completely passive in nature - I think I'll find this to be useful. My upside being I don't have to worry about my USB drive when I move my system around. I like the 2.0 variant, as that leaves another 3.0 port for my VM's. I though perhaps others in the community may like this, so here you go. Quote Link to comment
kizer
I used this myself. Its been working well for years. https://www.google.com/shopping/product/7472749584759003790# I just ripped out the bracket and only use one connection directly off the Mother Board Then again yours looks pretty simple too. 1 Quote Link to comment
mrbilky
I did this didn't want my kids ripping out the stick while the box was running the mover or copying files peace of mind for sure! And good choice as if I remember reading USB 2 is what you should be running the os on. Quote Link to comment
uldise
just be ware to provide some good airflow near the flash - i had one usb inside my server directly connected to the MB, and it worked OK for years until i added some PCIe card which is very close to usb port - then it started to drop out, i changed usb stick for another one but the same occur. finally i moved usb outside a case to some usb hub and no more drops..
