3560freak
I haven't purchased a new WD drive since the 1TB green drives launched (WD10EARS). I remember when setting them up in unRaid I had to run wdidle to disable the head parking delay. I have recently picked up a few of the 3.5 WD Red drives (4TB - not Pro) and a couple of the 2.5 WD Blue (2TB) as well. Is this still required? If so, where do I go about finding a good guide to running the commands? Sorry if it's pretty common knowledge around here, it's been a while and thanks for any help. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
I still use it for all new desktop WD Blues as they came with the same 8 second timer as the old greens. Reds default to 300secs, and I have few of those, but usually also disable it. IIRC laptop models default to 8 secs. and most can't be changed. Quote Link to comment
BobPhoenix
Never had to use it on my WD EARS drives when I had unRAID 4.5.6-4.6. Quote Link to comment

I don't know if it's a direct consequence of disabled park delays, but I have 2 WD 1TB greens that had been rocking for 74548 hours (8y, 6m, 4h). Quote Link to comment
