lals
Hey, I am trying to install a Ubuntu VM. After the installation I need to restart Ubuntu, and when it starts up again all I get is a black screen. So I stop the VM and start it again I get to the meny where I can install ubuntu or try it etc. It wont boot in to the OS. I have tried to detach the ISO, but nothing happends when I do it. note that I have ryzen hardware, I don't know if that has anything to do with it but I think it's worth mentioning. Squid
Are you using SeaBIOS or OVMF? Try SeaBIOS. Redo the VM, and hit advanced. Quote Link to comment
lals
Tried again with Seabios, but now I am stuck in a screen with the text "booting from hard drive" Quote Link to comment
ziggie216
Having the same issue with Ubuntu Desktop and I can’t even get past the first part of the install. Blank screen or disconnect seem to only happen when I’m using a VNC client, but not with the built in web client. I’m running Intel Xeon. Thinking about giving up Ubuntu and find something else to use. Quote Link to comment
leejbarker
I'm having the same issue too... It will install and they start up but when I update it and restart it messes up.. Quote Link to comment
david279
I have a ubuntu VM that had some of the same problems. I managed to get to the login screen and switched to xorg profile and it starts up Everytime using that. If I try that first option it just sits at a blank screen. This is in VNC.Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk Quote Link to comment
