jeffreywhunter
Was watching the log tail live when I shut my system down (6.3.4). I noticed the following: May 26 01:03:08 HunterNAS kernel: nfsd: last server has exited, flushing export cache May 26 01:03:08 HunterNAS ntpd[1646]: ntpd exiting on signal 1 (Hangup) May 26 01:03:08 HunterNAS ntpd[1646]: 127.127.1.0 local addr 127.0.0.1 -> <null> May 26 01:03:08 HunterNAS ntpd[1646]: XXX.XXX.XX.XXX local addr 192.168.29.100 -> <null> May 26 01:03:08 HunterNAS rc.inet1: ip route del default May 26 01:03:08 HunterNAS rc.inet1: ip addr del 192.168.29.100/24 dev eth0 Where the XXX is an IP address I have no idea where its coming from. Not sure I should share the IP. What does this last ntpd log entry mean? Should I be concerned about the IP? IP geolocate shows Digital Ocean, Clifton Virginia? Is this were Lime-Tech has their servers? Edited June 6, 2017 by jeffreywhunter Quote Link to comment
bonienl
This address is coming from your pool.ntp.com assignment. It will vary as different addresses are taken from the ntp pool. Quote Link to comment
