redeuxx
Hello! I'm curious, what is this autocutsel process? It is constantly using 33-45% CPU. Thanks! Quote Link to comment

geonerdist
I too am experiencing this, When I first notice the autocutsel process utilizing 10% of core 1 and a few days later it starts using nearly 50% of that same core. From ps -aux, currently showing at 28.7% and been running for a very long time... nobody 18330 28.7 2.0 377184 343964 ? S Jun27 2931:59 autocutsel Quote Link to comment
burtjr
Here is what I got from google..... autocutsel tracks changes in the server's cutbuffer and clipboard selection. When the clipboard is changed, it updates the cutbuffer. When the cutbuffer is changed, it owns the clipboard selection. The cutbuffer and clipboard selection are always synchronized. Since the VNC client synchronizes the Windows' clipboard and the server's cutbuffer, all three "clipboards" are always kept synchronized. When you copy some text in Windows, the cutbuffer and the clipboard selection are updated. When you copy text on the server using either the cutbuffer or the clipboard selection, the Windows's clipboard is always updated Quote Link to comment
geonerdist
Thank you burtjr for the info. I am going to reboot my server and see what happens. It's currently at 68% utilization CPU utilization. Quote Link to comment
thegurujim
I don't know if you've ever found the answer to this but I found out that the 'autocutse1' process was due to the Krusader docker I was using. I restarted that docker and it went away 1 Quote Link to comment
