This is old. But now, the exploit has been released.

Back in 2013, problems with UPnP were discovered.

Cisco even fixed some/all of the issues. But the problems were wide spread, requiring not only a fix from many device makers, but firmware updates done by customers. The first is hard, the second is practically impossible.

 

I know I have vulnerable devices around my house, not plugged in, just collecting dust in the just in case pile, never getting firmware updates...
