Spies
I've just plugged in my LSI card to preclear some SAS drives and noticed in the UI, the Seagate drive (ST32000444SS) is showing as spun down even though it isn't. It's currently progressing through a pre-clear so other than a visual bug, is this likely to indicate a problem? Quote Link to comment
Spies
Nobody else seen this behaviour? Attached a screenshot to show what I mean. Quote Link to comment
HellDiverUK
SAS drives might not support spinning down, as spinning down is a fucntion of one of the IDE/SATA commands. As SAS uses SCSI commands, it might not be able to spin down, or not understand the spin down command. So, unRAID might be saying "spin down, boyo" and the drive is saying "you want me to do what now?". 1 Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
It's a know issue, spin up/down doesn't work on SAS devices. Quote Link to comment
