Clicking 'Check for Updates' on the Plugins page is the preferred way to upgrade.  If the new version does not appear, you can manually update by selecting the Install Plugin tab, paste this URL and click Install:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/limetech/unRAIDServer/master/unRAIDServer.plg

Please also read the unRAID OS version 6 Upgrade Notes for answers to common issues that may arise following upgrade.

This is another bug fix and security update release:

- update openssl

- update linux kernel

- other small fixes, see below.

In addition, we now provide per-share control of OS X fruit optimizations.  This setting is located in the SMB Security Settings for each share.  The default is "No".  If you access shares using SMB with OS X, Finder directory listings can be significantly improved by enabling this optimization.

unRAID OS 6.3 is an extensive security and package update release.  In particular, we have made numerous changes to harden the unRAID OS webGui against XSS and CSRF vulnerabilities.

PREVIOUS unRAID OS RELEASES ARE VULNERABLE TO CSRF/XSS ATTACK AND WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND ALL USERS UPGRADE TO 6.3

Plugin Authors: as posted earlier, your plugin may not function properly depending how how POST requests are handled, see:

http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=55986.0

Plugin Users: please post issues you find in the appropriate Plugin Support topic.

And to reiterate: true plugins (not Docker containers) run as the

root

user and have full access to everything on your server: Install 3rd party plugins at your own risk.

Bugs: As always, if you are reporting a bug new in this release, please attach your diagnostics.zip file downloaded via Tools/Diagnostics

Updated without problems.  Just wish my Unraid would read the individual temps and rotational status from my Areca card.

Didn't see 6.3.2 while on 6.2.4, but once I upgraded to 6.3.1 there it was. No problems otherwise

One of my servers is all ReiserFS, so I did some snooping .. it's curious that the third Google hit on

reiserfs_discard_all_prealloc

is actually an  unRAID thread  !

RobJ did some dissecting, although it was on ESXi ... can't grok all that was said there, just a heads up.

Having some issues with the upgrade on one of my servers, Lost gui access, but still have SSH. Not sure how to run diagnostics from SSH?

Just type    diagnostics    at the command prompt and the file will be written to your flash drive.

Great work but when will nvme temperatures in the main gui work as it did in 6.2.9?

Still looking into this, we're not letting it die.

I've just upgraded and I'm seeing a lot of this is my syslog:

Feb 17 22:56:21 Lapulapu vsftpd[11486]: connect from 127.0.0.1 (127.0.0.1)

Feb 17 22:56:28 Lapulapu vsftpd[11563]: connect from 127.0.0.1 (127.0.0.1)

Feb 17 22:56:36 Lapulapu vsftpd[11626]: connect from 127.0.0.1 (127.0.0.1)

Feb 17 22:56:45 Lapulapu vsftpd[11717]: connect from 127.0.0.1 (127.0.0.1)

Yes, I have the ftp daemon enabled with one user defined and I realise the connection is from localhost so it's most probably benign. I didn't see it in previous versions though.

EDIT: I've just successfully updated another server that has no users defined in Settings -> FTP Server and in this case I don't get the vsftpd entries in the syslog.

Is it ok to just reboot even though the update never seemed to finish?

Having some issues with the upgrade on one of my servers, Lost gui access...

Just to be clear, this is NOT a 6.3.2 issue, but a problem that occurred in 6.3.1, prior to the completion of the update of the flash to 6.3.2.  Since it occurred under 6.3.1, I'm not sure how much time we want to spend on it...

Before rebooting, I would download 6.3.2 from the Download page, and upgrade the manual way, basically replace the bz* files on the flash from the distro.

I would also consider updating your motherboard BIOS.

I only posted here since it was during the update process that it happened, I'll replace the files manually as suggested and reboot.

Thanks

From your diagnostics, the all important bz* files in the root of your boot flash appear to be the correct ones for 6.3.2 so I'd say it's safe to reboot.

Here's what I have:

root@Lapulapu:~# v /boot
total 144252
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root  4399600 Feb 16 14:03 bzimage*
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 80333596 Feb 16 14:07 bzroot*
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 62528060 Feb 16 14:05 bzroot-gui*

Here's what you have:

/boot
total 144280

-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root     8192 Dec 31  1979 FSCK0000.REC

I know.  I wanted to make it clear to others that it wasn't a problem with 6.3.2, because I've been getting the impression that some users skim through the announcement threads and decide a release is defective if there appear to be too many issues reported.  Your post had resulted in almost half the posts to this point, and I didn't want it to be misleading.

Didn't see 6.3.2 while on 6.2.4, but once I upgraded to 6.3.1 there it was. No problems otherwise

Confirming this has been fixed, 6.2.4 now upgrades straight to 6.3.2 from the GUI without manually pasting the upgrade URL.

Anyone run the preclear plugin yet?  I just put in a 5-in-3 and I can see the drives in unassigned device but when I click preclear nothing happens.  I don't get the next window.  Yes I double posted http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=39985.msg541613#msg541613 but I wasn't sure which thread was appropriate. I thought it more likely someone with 6.3.2 would see it here and be able test.  It could be the cage.  Like I said I just got it but the lights are one and the fan is spinning and I can see the drives in the bios and unassigned devices.

Thanks.
