publicENEMY
One of my disk is failing. Bought new one to replace. Mistakenly rebuild on new disk without preclear. Stopped the rebuild. Try preclear. Unable to preclear. It says "The disk '/dev/sdf' is part of unRAID's array, or is assigned as a cache device." The array has already been stopped and the disk is set to no device. How do I force preclear? Im using preclear plugin for unraid 6. Quote Link to comment
John_M
You don't need to pre-clear a disk before rebuilding onto it and having got this far I'd just let it continue to rebuild, since I consider the unprotected array to be more of a risk than that of an un-tested disk. However, if you want to pre-clear it as a means of testing it you need to unassign it and then start the array in order to register it as missing again. Then you should be able to pre-clear it.
