So this week i have put together a video guide some may find interesting?? I am sure there is alot of improvements that can be made to how this is done and i hope people in the community will add to this How to install unRAID as a VM on another unRAID server EDIT......... ....PLEASE ALSO READ THIS EXCELLENT GUIDE CHBMB MADE HERE.................... Wish i had seen your post I was trying to setup a vm unraid to make some setup tutorials on. I have edited the post to clearly include your guide aswell. thanks love the way you convert a whole disk. qemu-img convert -O raw /dev/sd? /path/to/unraid-vm.img I never knew you could convert a physical disk with that command. SSD Posted February 13, 2018 Share Posted February 13, 2018 Here is a link to a better way to set up an unRAID VM on an unRAID server. @gridrunner - you might consider a new video using this technique and deprecate this old one. Very similar, but the new method avoids the issue with having 2 USB keys with the same UNRAID label in the computer at the same time. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
