Hi NAS, I've seen you care a lot about security fixes in the kernel.

Are those issues related to having a server connected to the raw internet (dhcp from isp for instance) ?

I'm just asking to consider if my setup is "relatively" safe or nto : a discrete machine running a firewall server (vyos), all other servers/workstations behind this firewall.

It is purely because it is my day job. I do my best to cherry pick and post only stuff that:

is and early heads up e.g. the current SSL http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=46906.0

the important stuff that only LT can fix e.g. kernel vulnerabilties, docker

non main track notices e.g. oddball stuff

I used to post Slackware stuff as well but LT is all over this now.

If you are exposing services to the internet I would use only docker or a VM as the slow and steady unRAID  release matra also includes security.

As an example glibc is patched on every system i own now and unraid is still even to comment. This does not matter if you are presented a VM etc.

If you want to talk more create a dedicated topic somewhere. There is some good stuff to cover here and some sanity saving context to add.
