yeah, and thats fine on local network, but when router comes into play if the only port forwarded is the webui port, but https/ssl is being used wouldnt 443 by default need to be forwarded to unraid for https to go there from outside?

not trying to be difficult, just help :D

no, you can do the following:-

external web browser connecting to <your public ip> port 1234 -> <your unraid host ip> port 1234 -> <docker container ip> port 1234

the router port forward would then be external port 1234 to <your unraid host ip> port 1234

this works fine, i have such a setup running right now.

Doesn't work with http either from outside my LAN :( Also, when I load the madsonic UI from within my LAN, it defaults to using https. I can connect to my VPN and use the local LAN IP, but I'd rather to be able to not drain my phone battery with an always on VPN. When I load the UI of this docker from my LAN, it loads in https. I did not specify any extra flags or anything. But is there something I can try to see if this docker, with all the proper ports forwarded, will allow remote access? I've tried my actual IP, my DDNS address, and neither work. I can access my VPN via my DDNS address, so I know that DDNS is working.

EDIT: I am now just getting a 404 not found, when using my DDNS address:4050. I can use my DDNS address to access plex via a forwarded port in this same fashion. I can accept the Self Signed Cert on my phone and connect to Plex using this certificate, but this docker will not allow remote connection no matter what I try. NMAP from another place shows ports 4050 and 4040 as both closed. They are definitely both properly forwarded to be able to be reaching this unRAID machine and this docker. I cannot reach it from outside my LAN with either http, or https.

I am still plagued with not being able to access madsonic (now actually libresonic) from outside my LAN. Did you ever figure this out?

I just did a fresh install of Madsonic, having similar issues.  No outside access. Ports are forwarded.  Tried connecting with IP direct, dyndns, both with/without http(s).  If I disable SSL in settings, then I cant connect to the GUI from LAN.  Ill keep picking at it today, thought I would add to this thread.

I still also have this exact problem. Literally any other program or docker I use I can port forward to just fine from outside my LAN. I have 4040 and 4050 forwarded and cannot connect via IP  or DDNS. I've finally purchased a 500GB MicroSD card just so I can have my music with me everywhere I go as I could never get this to work. Everything else is fine. I have a pfsense router in front of this, and have even tried setting up flagging for these ports and see absolutely nothing.

I uninstalled the app, removed settings from appdata.  Updated router to reflect both UDP and TCP. Reinstalled app, without SSL. Had to refresh page 4 or 5 times before it would load, but it did.  I tested my IP from network settings and now it says successful. Havent tried android app yet. Of course I changed too many things at once, so not 100% sure on my solution. But its 1 step further then I was earlier.

I'm trying to access Madsonic over the Internet using an android app (DSub). I've used this app successfully for years accessing a subsonic server on another machine. I can access Madsonic locally over wifi using the web interface or DSub, but not over the Internet.

I have set up port forwarding on my router. I've gone over all my settings. I can't figure it out. Any help?

i would encourage everybody to switch over to the open source fork of subsonic, namely libresonic:-

Is it possible to update the Madsonic version inside your container ?

not easily any more, no, as the latest versions of Madsonic is now a paid product, taken from the download page:-

"This page is for Early Adopter & Premium User only!"

And tbh, AirSonic is just as good, if not better, and is completely free and open source, i would encourage you to move over to that.
