Yes 6.2.4.  And I had it at 2.5.. Ill change it back and try it again...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it worked.  That is completely bizarre as I know I tried it both ways....  Man I must be overly tired.  Thanks Gridrunner!!  Super excited to get this going.. Now to get the GPU and USB going.

We NEED a good tutorial how to get the OSK key. It took me a few hours to find out how to get it since all the tutorials don't work,

Pro Tip: Google "apple osk key" and look in the related searches, it should be the 7th result (it is just a small joke/copyright message by apple, not an actual key).

I made a video a few months ago when I made the osx vm tutorials but i didn't link it in the forums

Very useful tutorial if you want to break less laws but please include an sha1 checksum so we can check if the script file has been manipulated or corrupted (mega got bought by some chinese company).

IMO it is a lot easier to just use use the related search result. At the end of the day apple most likely doesn't care where you got the key.

Your 1060 is 01:00.00 and 01:00.01

so you would nned to add it by hostdev like this

  <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='usb' managed='yes'>

        <vendor id='0x046d'/> (your vendor id)
        <product id='0xc52b'/> (your product id)
      </source>
    </hostdev>

You would need to delete the vnc part below

    <graphics type='vnc' port='-1' autoport='yes' websocket='-1' listen='0.0.0.0' keymap='en-us'>

Great channel and I suggest everyone here do the same!  I am new to UNraid as of 2 months ago, and haven't dabbled in Linux in forever, so please forgive.  I do have two YouTube Channels if you want to sub and swap any ideas, collab, need resources, I am all about it!

Also, I am running the Seabios Cham version through splashtop and can only seem to get 800x600 res no matter what I put in the  plist file...is this a Splashtop limitation?

So you have edited the plist in the extras folder yes so looks a bit like this

I looked at your channel and also subbed. You have great talent wow. I loved the "The Fall of Old Saint Nick" the editing and music is awesome :)

So yeah, I am now using the video card.  Is that my issue?  Seems the res is stuck no matter what I try. :-/  I actually gave up on it as I was so obsessed with getting it working I wasn't getting any of my other work done. lolz.  This is my plist as it stands:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

I have tried Graphics Mode and ScreenResolution both with no change.  I had the nvda_drv=1 in there as well.  I also have the org.chameleon.boot.plist file in both my Computer/Mac HD/Extra folder and my Computer/Mac HD/Users/AD/Extra folder as I read somewhere to put it in there.  The latter I believe does nothing.  I understand that the file passes commands to the bootloader and how that works. Just not sure why it's not functioning. Or my brain isn't functioning which is more likely the case!  Hey, thanks for the sub and the views, greatly appreciated.  I make a lot of 3D video animations for peoples channels..if you would like something done, let me know..it's the least I can do. Thanks again for everything! Cheers.  Oh, and I am using TextWrangler for all edits. :-)

Hello!

I'm having some trouble with my Sierra VM and I was wondering if anyone could give me some help. I am passing through a Palit GTX 760 and while the VM worked fine yesterday this morning when clicking start the entire unRAID system crashed. On my motherboard the CATT_ERR led lit up next to the CPU. After rebooting and clicking start again Clover appeared on the display as it should. It began to boot but just before the login screen the VM became paused and I found these errors in the log.

2016-12-04T08:53:17.103806Z qemu-system-x86_64: vfio_err_notifier_handler(0000:01:00.1) Unrecoverable error detected. Please collect any data possible and then kill the guest

01:00.0 is my GPU and 01:00.1 is the audio from the card. This is a repeatable error when rebooting the VM.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

So I have had a working OSX Sierra VM thanks to gridrunner's videos but I am keen to get it working with GPU passthrough. I tried copying the <hostdev> entries from my fully working Win10 GPU passthrough VM but that doesn't seem to work. I mean it will boot into OSX but the screen is massively corrupted. I see 4 small stretched versions of the screen on the monitor. I can log into Splashtop fine. I am not sure if I need to also change something in Clover config somewhere?

Yes  as you have the gtx 950 you will need to install the Nvidia web drivers for osx.

Also, you will need to nvda_drv=1 in clover boot options

also, change this part of your XML so it includes xvga='yes'

<hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes' xvga='yes'>
      <driver name='vfio'/>
      <source>
        <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x01' slot='0x00' function='0x0'/>
      </source>

      <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x02' slot='0x04' function='0x0'/>
    </hostdev>
    <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'>
      <driver name='vfio'/>
      <source>
        <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x01' slot='0x00' function='0x1'/>
      </source>
      <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x02' slot='0x05' function='0x0'/>
    </hostdev>

Check back and let me know how you get on  :)

Hello everybody.

Today I successfully installed OSX with the help of this thread. Gerat work!

But it seems I'm having trouble to passthough anything.

My XML looks as follows:

<domain type='kvm' xmlns:qemu='http://libvirt.org/schemas/domain/qemu/1.0'>

When I then try to start the VM the following error appears:

internal error: process exited while connecting to monitor: 2017-03-08T10:01:39.349446Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=03:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: vfio: error opening /dev/vfio/21: Operation not permitted

It says the same when I try to only pass through one device.

Has anyone an Idea whats going on with this?

Help would be appreciated.
