[Support] Linuxserver.io - Plex Media Server

Recommended Posts

So I've done something stupid. lol

(Fixed my previous problem BTW, had 2 corrupt HDs, not sure how but ohh well.)

Got the:

(orphan image)

Image ID: 4d61492278c7
linuxserver/plex:latest

The last thing I did was add the LAST Media folder... and I think I put the slash the wrong way or something like that.

Is it possible to fix through Putty or something? Or whats the process on fixing that without re-indexing for another 24 hours. lol

Thanks

Delete the orphan and use Community Applications to add plex from you Previous Apps.

It would be nice if there was a docker that just contained comskip and ffmpeg (and any other dependencies).

Then you could just set it up to watch a folder for new recordings and put the processed video files into an output folder.

Sickbeard or Sonar could then be configured watch the processed video folder.

Dredging up an old topic...

I have just moved to using Plex DVR as it suits my needs and was able to retire two containers (TVH and zap2it).  However, this is the piece I need.  I did stumble across this but not sure if it is even useful...

Why not keep the tvh container (if its ours) and used the built in comskip? The container you linked also needs comskip to be run manually.

Does Plex support any of the comskip formats?

Only for pure simplicity.  I like all-in-one solutions.

I'll probably just setup a WIN VM with comskip and have it watch a folder for now.

From what I can see Plex doesn't support comskip, so no point in adding it in the Plex container. As there are no utility to actually cut the comskip processed files in Linux, you will have to use windows anyway for Plex to play without commercials.

Does the Plex DVR have the ability to run a post recording script?

Library not updating.

I took the previous advice, and have been seeking an answer on the PLEX forums, for some time; since my last posts here.

Seems like a LOT of threads, with the same issue; and when I finally searched them out...it seems like they went no where...no definitive answers, just as mine has remained.

I mean...I have begged, just to be pointed in the right direction; supplied logs, etc.

Nothing. So I'm back here...looking for any help I can get; because it's rendered PLEX, practically useless...if I can't figure out, what's caused it to stop updating.

TIA

Newbie here....

What am I missing? I don't see any forwarded ports for plex. I'm new to Plex....

Docker in unraid uses two different network models, bridge requires forwarding explicit ports through, host exposes the whole container, so any ports the container opens are exposed.

Ever since upgrading to unRAID 6.3.2, I am seeing these errors in the syslog:

Anyone else seeing these?  I did not see them in 6.3.1.

Just converted over from LimeTech docker to LSIO, and expect the log messages below are associated with a new version of Plex. Never saw such messages before..

Suggestions?

Can someone tell me whats up with this Docker?

A new Plex-Server is available and Docker says no updates???

Is This Docker not longer supported?

Docker updates are about the container, not the app specifically. To get the latest version of the app, restart the docker. You can click the log link just after restarting to watch it retrieve and install latest version of Plex.

What does this mean?

There is a button called "Check for Updates". This button doesnt check the Plex Server version? lol

When i stop and start the Plex docker it happens... nothing.

So how is this working?

after restarting the docker, did you do into plex and see if its latest version? I'm glad my help is entertaining for you.

You are welcome - yes, checked it, still the old Plex version 1.3.4 - strange - i do a second start/stop and see what happens.

If this dosnt help, i reboot my unraid.

We make a container, with an "OS" inside it, in the case of Plex that is based on Xenial Ubuntu.  We update the container each week, that means that all the packages that have updates available within the container get updated.  This is necessary to get security fixes etc.  Plex will only get updated if there is an update available.  I have no real clue what specifically you're asking with this.

Might be helpful if you tell us what version of Plex you're running.

There is no way for the unRAID webUI to know whether or not any and all applications out on the World Wide Web have an update. It can check if the docker was updated, but not whether the application in the container was updated since there is no consistent way to determine this for all applications.
