Sccrluk9
I have a friend who after seeing my unRaid server wants one. She doesnt have a ton of requirements but Id prefer to keep it on the cheaper side. SATA connections I'm only thinking 4. While 6 would be nice with the size of HDDs now she could hit 18TB + 6TB parity (currently only has ~3TB of data) Here's what I have in mind right now: MOBO: ASRock Micro ATX DDR3 2400 FM2 Motherboard FM2A58M-VG3+ R2.0: $42.99 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PIGRGGC/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=5LQTDQCT95Q9&coliid=I2LQ60YQOQAM7W CPU: AMD A6-5400K APU 3.6Ghz Dual-Core Processor AD540KOKHJBOX: $44.99 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0095VPBFY/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=5LQTDQCT95Q9&coliid=I1GRJC5FYFK1ST RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB Single DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL9 @1.5V UDIMM 240-Pin Memory Module BLS4G3D1609DS1?S00: $34.99 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006WAGG14/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=5LQTDQCT95Q9&coliid=I1W9XLIT8S37WQ&psc=1 PSU: Corsair CX Series 430 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Bronze ATX12V/EPS12V 384 Power Supply CX430M: $52.11 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ALYORA4/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=5LQTDQCT95Q9&coliid=IBPN9SIBLEGNX&psc=1 Case: Fractal Design Node 304 Mini-ITX Hybrid Computer Case FD-CA-NODE-304?-BL: $79.99 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009LHF4FO/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=5LQTDQCT95Q9&coliid=I3129TZVC0OW6D Let me know what you guy think. It will just be for local media, no transcoding, possibly running a few plugins SAB, SickBeard, CouchPotato Quote Link to comment
tritron
I would go with 804 case this allows for 12 hard drives making the build future proof. There are many quad core cpus from amd with 25watt draw athlon and semptron. You can buy p410 raid card for $30 and use it as jbod. Quote Link to comment
lionelhutz
Look the HP Microservers. 4 hot swap bays and you can get them for under $200. Quote Link to comment
