I hate to say it, but this is exactly the reason I moved from my native install of unifi-video on Arch Linux (I even maintain the AUR package for it!) to this docker in Ubuntu. My cameras were constantly disconnecting and re-connecting. They kind of worked, but hadn't recorded anything for weeks. Reset them, tossed them against this docker image and... bam, they're fine. I was never able to figure out what the problem even was. If your VM is working, maybe that is a sign to stick with it.

Did you shutdown your VM when you tried the docker?

Hi, I'm using Unraid 6.3.2 with Unifi Docker.

I've configured in Unifi the Autobackup feature and I'm also make an appdata backup weekly using the CA backup app.

The problem is that inside the Unifi appdata folder I've only the logs directory.

At the same time if I run the following command:

docker exec -it UniFi /bin/bash

cd /usr/lib/unifi

Then I can see all the Unifi folders included the Autobackup.

There is a way to include the autobackup folder inside the appdata folder?

Thanks in advance

Damn it, I thought It was stable. Next time will check more, but not sure we can downgrade easily now...

I wont update it untill the 5.5.5 becomes stable release.

Ok - so looks like 5.4.11 is still the stable build - any idea if i can downgrade to that? - i noticed that with 5.5.5 the AP is only seeing 3.7.42.6153, and not 3.7.55 for software. Im hesitant to flash to 3.7.55 manually in case there is an issue on the controller side with that build. :)

Yeah, so the issue i have is there was a short window when the docker was pushing a 5.5.x build - Not sure of the steps to get back on the 5.4 builds, as well if i can even do that while retaining settings.

or if i can somehow get up to 5.5.11?

Is the PlexConnect docker still working?

Try to get this to work but keep getting error message at .../trailers.cer (error -1003) on the ATV.

From the logfile:

Never mind. It's working fine now.

Finally some use for the ATV3 after all these years at home :)

Thanks

Thanks, for all the work on both of the Unifi Dockers.  I am also part of the group that updated to Unifi version 5.5.5.

What is going to be the path going forward for us?

Has anyone had success with the downgrade?

Thanks

My Unifi 5.5.5 docker app on unRAID is showing an update is available.  Is it safe to update?  I don't see any reference on the first post regarding the new update.

Update:

I successfully updated the UniFi docker app to 5.5.19 and restored my settings.

Currently having issues with the Unifi-Video docker.  It's not available from Community Apps, so I had to add it from DockerHub.  Once installed, I had to manually create the system.properties file and I added the following into the file:

"is_default=true"

Only way to get the docker to start was to set it to "Privileged".

Once the docker was restarted and I tried to open the webui, it opened a blank page without the URL string to the UI, so I have to manually type in the address with the proper port.  Can you let me know how to fix that?

Once I manually type the URL into a browser, I was presented with the Uni-Fi UI saying that it was upgrading and then it is asking me to log in... the install / configuration wizard is not presented.  I tried to log in via the default UBNT ID / PW, but no good.  Below is the docker log.

2017-08-26 19:17:08.204564 [warn] PUID not defined (via -e PUID), defaulting to '99'
2017-08-26 19:17:08.259225 [warn] PGID not defined (via -e PGID), defaulting to '100'
2017-08-26 19:17:08.311434 [info] Permissions already set for volume mappings
Starting unifi-video... done.

One last thing... the docker icon was not set, so I manually had to set it to:

Any help is appreciated...

After taking a break, I was able to get the setup wizard to run, configured it as well as adopt it into my UBNT cloud account.   My mistake was leaving the quotes in the system properties file.  So this is all you need to invoke the wizard:

is_default=true

I am using your unifi controller docker on unraid and I just wanted to say thank you for creation and maintenance.

You welcome!

In case you need it, I also support the latest BETA of UniFi Video (currently 3.8.0 Beta 4).  To access the beta, just add :beta in the Docker edit page (in advance) for the repository.   The Beta is required if you have a new UVC Micro G3.

I have a question that may have been answered somewhere before but I cannot find it in a search.  I am running the UniFi docker in Unraid and it works great.  However, I need to create a config.gateway.json file and put it in the /data/sites/ directory.  I cannot find this directory anywhere.  There should be a /maps directory in the /sites directory.

What I am trying to accomplish is to put a Unifi Security Gateway (USG) in pass-through mode.  In order to do this in with persistance, you have to add the .json file to the controller and it is provisioned to the USG.  Otherwise, the USG will revert every time it is updated.  There is no way thru the UI to do this yet.

This is the link to describe what I am doing.

After updating the Unifi-Video docker this morning, my cameras were stuck in a managing state.  I did a little research and based on the released notes for 3.8.0, it looks like folks will need to add another port or update the port list to the docker properties.

Important Notes

  • ** In order to improve the security of camera communication, cameras will now connect to the controller using port 7442 instead of the web UI port (7443) **
    • Cameras running pre-3.8 firmware will be allowed to connect via port 7443 to be discovered and initiate software upgrade, but will only be allowed to fully connect over port 7442 (upgraded cameras should connect via 7442 after upgrade)
    • Any network configurations that define special rules for forwarding port 7443 for camera connections will need to be adjusted, adding port 7442 as allowed/forwarded to the server with UniFi Video installed.

I think the container might need a slight update since it appears that they changed the port from 7443 to 7442.

Just updated the Master branch to add the port 7442.

On the BETA, it was already open.  I forgot to add the port when I updated the master branch, sorry :)

I actually included this in an update of the README.md in the pull request to update to 3.8.0 and suggested editing the first post. Thanks for replying and including the information so others will see it too. I had the same issue during testing. :)

I edited the XML for the template, so now, if a someone add this docker, the 7442 will already be in the template.

Hi,

To get inside the running docker, you can do the following :

  1. Open an SSH connection to your Unraid Server (or on the server running the docker).
  2. Type:  docker exec -it "UniFi" /bin/bash
  3. That will let you enter the running docker.
  4. When you'll find where is located the sites folder, you can add your config file in it.

5.5.24 came out on 10/4 - Wondering if there is an easy way to update this docker on my end? I don't want to switch to the other one that is on 5.6 builds. :)

i see the docker file pulls the cURL - could you have the version number of build as an advanced variable so you don't need to rebuild every time (or a user could lock a certain version in?)

Hi Graham,

Just updated the UniFi to 5.5.24.  I also created a Beta branch, currently having 5.6.19.  (To get Beta branch, edit in advance mode the Docker page and change the repo by putting :beta at the end.)

** REGARDING THE KRAK Wi-Fi WPA2 major security flaw **

Ubiquiti Networks already released new firmwares for their different Access Point and UniFi Switches.  They do NOT show up yet in the controller, but you can manually install them until they do.  Check this website for details :  Release Notes (Firmware 3.9.3.7537)
