ZipsServer
Hi all, I have seen mention of this in a couple different threads, but there doesnt seem to be a standard "official" fix for the problem. 1) The Mac creates a "Network Trash Folder" and a "Temporary Items" folder as well as some other stuff (.AppleDB, .Appledouble, etc) when you access any folder from Finder. This is fine for most folders as those files and folders are invisible when using Finder. However, when you access the main parent folder for the server (ie when it shows all of your shares) using Finder, it creates those folders as a top level directory which Unraid then makes User Shares. 2) When you access any folder in a user share, the Mac will create or update invisible files within that folder (.AppleDB, etc). If you are using a cache disk, Unraid thinks that new files have been uploaded to that user share. It will show a yellow ball next to that share to indicate that the share has files on the cache disk that need to be transferred to the main array. This is obviously quite annoying, although it is not a huge issue. Is there an official fix to solve these problems? Quote Link to comment
whiteatom
There are 2 fixes... One is a terminal command in the mac to prevent it from creating those folders on a network drive and the other is to run a cron script on your unraid box to delete them. How many mac's do you have? ZipsServer
Just one Macbook, obviously I would like it to be able to deal with multiple Macs as well. Is a fix going to be implemented in an official release at some point? Quote Link to comment
