archedraft
Does anyone have a preferred brand of shielded locking latch sata cables? I didn't find anything on Newegg that looked exceptional but then again I have always used the sata cables that came with the motherboards. Quote Link to comment
prostuff1
I get most of my SATA cables from monoprice. Quote Link to comment
garycase
+1 for Monoprice. Newegg's a great source for most hardware; but for cables Monoprice is much better => more selection; better prices; and excellent service. The only exception to that is if you need left-handed SATA cables -- for those you should get them here: http://www.cpustuff.com/left-angle-to-straight-sata-cable/ Quote Link to comment
archedraft
I am assuming that the "Serial ATA 6Gbps/ SATA III Cables" are the best? Also, how can you tell if the cables are shielded? Quote Link to comment

Yes, those are what you want for internal use. They're not, however, shielded. If you want shielded cables, you need the "External Serial ATA / SATA Cables" Quote Link to comment

No Ok thanks! Just wanted to make sure on that but it sounded like you only needed the shielded cables if you planned on zip tying all the sata cables together. Quote Link to comment
unevent
Correct, no need for shielded marketing hype. Standard SATA cables consist of two twisted or twin-axial pairs with each pair having a shield. They also use differential signals (RS/EIA-644) for noise immunity and common mode rejection. Quote Link to comment
