alphazo
I have seen a number of threads talking about VMWare and VirtualBox but what about KVM (Kernel Based Virtual) machine that ships with Linux kernel? I would like to run KVM on top of unRAID for running small server appliances. Do you think that re-compiling the kernel to enable "kvm" and "kvm-intel" would be enough to get KVM running? What about virtio for faster I/O, does it require special kernel modules? Finally I guess qemu-kvm package might be required as well? Would someone be kind enough to recompile unRAID kernel (5.0-beta14) with kvm extensions? Thanks Alphazo [EDIT] Looking at the following page I'm no longer sure that kernel needs to be recompiled or not. http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13.37/system/kvm-kmod/ Quote Link to comment
