  1. Just to close the thread out for anyone in the future. As easy as expected 1. Take a screenshot of your drive assignment 2. Stop array 3. Powerdown the server 4. Remove the ESXI usb drive 5. Reboot the server 6. Check drive assignment is correct before starting the array Only issue i had on reboot was intel nic not being recognised. Switched to onboard nic. Sure there is a solution which ill get to in due course
  2. Hi Been running unRaid under ESXI for a long time but recently decided i need something my wife / kids have a chance of actually looking after if im not around. Its been rock solid but want to simplify. My understanding is i simply need to rebuild my machine using the usb that currently has unraid on and ensure when i start unRaid that drives are correctly allocated. Anything else i need to worry about? Thanks in advance
  3. OK Installed the Intel NIC and now everything seems to be working. No more network dropping. About to install Windows 7 and see if I pass the onboard NIC to it whether it drops.
  4. Strange then. Any chance you could try connecting to server using onboard NIC. I have a new Intel NIC arriving today which I will be trying so hopefully that solves problem. I had a windows 7 installation running on the hardware for stress testing the build and had no issues with the network card so definately ESXI being the problem. Tried all versions of 5 as well.
  5. In esxi. Haven't been able to connect long enough to install unraid. Can connect to server for a couple of minutes and then network dies. You using the inboard to connect to esxi?
  6. Orange I am also doing a build with the as rock board but my Onboard nic keeps dropping. Did you get it working or have you gone with a network card?
  7. Hi Have tried searching but struggling to find info. My current Unraid server (Gigabyte G31M-ES2L motherboard) is just about out of storage space. I managed to obtain a IBM M1015 but have been unable to flash it. Being based in UK means my options are somewhat limited. Has anyone got any suggestions for current motherboards that would be capable of flashing the IBM M1015? Thanks in advance
  8. Hi Busy looking into this as well. Contacted Scan and they can source a Tyan S5510GM3NR within 48 hours for around £160 exc VAT. Only thing that worries me having done some research is it seems picky with power supplies. Try emailing Scan as the SCM is listed as pre-order so perhaps it also a case of the part being shipped to order only. Good luck.
  9. or actual read and write speeds ? I guess it will be limited to what a normal hard drive would perform since i believe there's no stripping ? This assuming it's running without esxi and installed on the machine without anything else Cheers Hi Trying to source a M1015 in the Uk and cant seem to find a reasonably priced one. Would you mind letting me know where you found yours? Thanks
