  1. Hi, Ran into a strange problem this week... I recently upgraded to unRaid 6 from the latest 5 stable version, installed some dockers, didn't run into any problems there.. however, one of the folders on my cache-drive now has 2 folders without a name, opening the folders direct right back to the main folder i'm coming from (bit hard to explain, but it seems like some kind of looping-behaviour). I can actually only 'see' these two folders in a Windows-environment. The main folder (/Downloads) show no folders or files in my mac (even if there are other files/folders present besides the two no-name folders). In windows when I look at the properties of the folders I see 0 bytes, etc. So I thought 'well, just delete them'... but when I started to delete the folders the size of the (to be deleted) files increased rapidly so I cancelled, afraid to lose data from my server. Included some screenshots to make it more clear... I can (seemingly) keep on entering the empty folders without any difference (except getting further on in the folder-tree) Anyone knows how to solve this?
  2. Solved... I think some packages didn't install properly, so I deleted them and re-installed the plugin; it works now.. However the dropbox-plugin seems to be having some problems... everything seems fine, but the status is still Downloading after 7 hours (from 16.000 to 12.000 files or so), however nothing is placed in my Dropbox-data folder (including my sabnzbd-watch folder) yet Any ideas?
  3. Hi Guys, I hope this topic is still 'alive', I have a question... This weekend I installed SABnzbd with this guide: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Setting_Up_SABnzbd,_SickBeard,_and_CouchPotoato However when trying to start the sab-service I get the following message: Sorry, requires Python module sqlite3 Try: apt-get install python-pysqlite2 I'm using the current stable 5.0.5-version of unRAID Any idea's of what might went wrong and how to solve it ? I'm not an advanced user ;-)
  4. ehm just replaced one of the netgear switches (GS608) and transferspeeds are down: 35-60MB/s up: 20-25MB/s I feel a bit embarrassed, on the other hand, wouldn't have found it without your help... Thank you so much for your help and patience, it has been a very educational experience!
  5. Yes, I can Telnet the system and logged in, however when I type the command cd/mnt it says No such file or directory, MC is probably in there, so it can't be found. Sorry, missed two spaces DISK 1 > DISK 2: 20 - 30MB/s DISK 2 > DISK 1: 20 - 30MB/s DISK 1 > DISK 3: 15 - 20MB/s (bit slower, but still okay) DISK 3 > DISK 1: 20 - 30MB/s DISK 2 > DISK 3: 15 - 20MB/s (bit slower, but still okay) DISK 3 > DISK 2: 20 - 40MB/s (bit faster, speed was dropping during the transfer to around 25MB/s and picked up again to around 30MB/s, which is okay) Conclusion is that transfers from DISK 2 are a bit slower, but nowhere near 300kB/s. Since the transferspeed problem via Windows PC is also downward, I assume the parity drive is not the problem as well.... uh oh, I think I have to look into the MicroServer's NIC or UTP-cable (no errors, collisions or anything yesterday, Gigabit-connection) or... it could be the switch/hub (that would be shamefull)
  6. Transferrates are between 0 and 350 kBps, dune media players are not able to play hd content... How can I copy from the console? Is this via telnet? Can you give me an example, I'm a bit of Linux-noob
  7. I tried this (I didn't have the folders in step 1 and 2, so just used the stock go-file) but unfortunately it didn't give any better results, included the syslogs again... the one after restart is made the Telnet-way (since I don't have unMenu anymore), so isn't formatted very friendly Anything else I can try? syslog-2013-01-23_before_restart.txt syslog-2013-01-23_after_restart.txt
  8. Does anyone have any experience with RMA of these drives? Is it a problem that they are used in a NAS environment? Strange enough I hope the problem is in the Microserver instead of the drives, is probably an easier device to swap (or repair) under warranty. Anyone any ideas if it could be a corrupted USB unRAID stick (or corrupted files)? Is there something that I can try without the risk of losing data?
  9. Not sure about the Hitachi software, but SeaTools can certainly be used in check only mode. in fact you have to take special action if you want it to try and correct any errors found (and even then it only offers that option on Seagate drives). Great, that's something to check as soon as I get the e-sata dock, it's also required in case I have to RMA the disk.
  10. Can I use Hitahi's Drive Fitness Test (WinDFT) and Seagate's SeaTools for drive checking without problems or do they actually 'change' the drives (settings, parameters, data, etc.) themselves ? What I would like to do is check every disk on another system with the tools mentioned above, if there's nothing wrong with them I'd like to put them back into the Microserver and analyse further, without dataloss ofcourse
  11. Yes. Would this (cheap) one suffice, it's for testing only now... http://www.sweex.com/nl/assortiment/connectivity/converters-data-linking/ST050/ Another thing: I was actually thinking of upgrading to the latest unRAID RC-version, but will wait until this all works okay again (hopefully soon ) It should make no improvement since everything used to run fine untill a few days ago. Could the install on the USB-stick be 'damaged' or something causing the problems? Would a replacement with the original 4.7 files help? Any files I should replace to keep my settings? I'm afraid to lose data so I'm just checking p.s. also changed the icon and hopefull will change it again to 'solved' Update: Added the age of the disks (Hitachi: 20 months/warranty: 36, Seagate: 16 months/warranty: 36; Microserver: 9 months/warranty: 12)
  12. I have an extra drive I could use, however I lack the physical space to add it to the server... There's room for 4 cold swap drives and a ODD, all occupied I could get a esata dock or something, would that be possible to use as a cache drive?
  13. I have shut down the system again and removed and re-inserted all cold-swap drives again, also unplugged and plugged everything in again just to be sure... Still no solution though I did see the following line in the log: Jan 21 21:22:22 Tower kernel: ACPI Warning for \_SB_._OSC: Return type mismatch - found Integer, expected Buffer (20090903/nspredef-1006) (Minor Issues) Could that be something causing the problems? The oldest Hitachi drives have a sticker on them with FEB 2011, so if the warranty is 2 years I might be able to send them out to Hitachi for RMA swap
  14. Anyone S.M.A.R.T enough to tell me if (one of) the drives are still okay? I'll try to move the microserver (as the name suggests, it's not that big) physically to another floor of my house and on to another hub to see if that makes a difference, I'm actually pretty out of options at the moment Update: the server has been moved and I freed some additional disk space, files are moving now with a speed between 0 and 350kB/s, one large file has been moved so far... Both the pc as the server are on 1Gb-connections 2nd update: at first sight media played via the Dune player (although the interface was painfully slow) however after a few seconds the video started stuttering and I had to stop again. So, no solution yet, but a tiny bit better than yesterday...
