  1. Greetings, I'm currently seeking to reorganize my two unraid servers for better efficiency and logical structure. However, it's crucial for me to retain the existing configurations (including Docker, VMs, etc.) and have a fallback option if the new setup doesn't meet expectations or if issues arise. I have three questions: Would backing up the flash drive suffice to restore my current setup if needed? If not, what alternative method would be recommended? What's the optimal approach for resetting an unraid server to begin anew, allowing me to build the servers according to my plan?
  2. Yes, I a saw a few posts around the subject and switched the server to ipvlan instead of macvlan. But what explains this sudden issue of panic considering the server never had the issue in the other case? Is this related to the network cards ?
  3. This system was completely fine until I switch casing and some network cards. Suddenly it started getting system panics. Of course by changing case it means disks but it has the same LSI card so I would be surprised this is the issue. Any insight would be greatful. I am adding the diag file. Unraid : 6.12.10 unraid.zip
  4. I had issues with this workaround for AMD, I could not get Plex to work at all the minute I added the device. I found a thread that mentionned using this instead: /dev/dri/renderD128:/dev/dri/renderD128 This worked number one and I can easily HW transcode 4/5 videos. I have an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X. https://medium.com/@liviustefanesq/leveraging-amd-gpu-power-on-unraid-for-plex-media-server-dd500d64f70b
  5. Hi there Stagenet. I am intersted in knowing how you got the transcoding going? I have installed RadeonTop, added the /dev/dri:/dev/dri in the device (I am running plex as a docker). I start something it is just spinning. Seems to be an issue with the transcoding.
  6. Well now... just for good measure I rebooted the server and now the mover is working .. Slap me for not trying that first (although, in my defense I thought I had). Closing this as resolved, but suprised that a creation of a pool needs a server reboot to become active.
  7. Yes, the pool CFG Files. OK will stop the array and delete the files and recreate the caches ... see if this helps.
  8. Tried it and still same results. Wonder if I delete the cache.cfg file and then redo the exercise if this would correct the issue.

  11. I trying to activate mover and I am getting this message: move: mover: array devices not mounted However raid is up, cache pool is available. One cache is receiving files the other is not? Any insight would be appreciated.
  12. I too have been experiencing this issue lately. I see that possible root cause (from different posts in the forums) would be cable, the SAS card itself or the hard drive.... If the Card was the issue would we not see this error randomly on different drives or even or more than one drive? Cable I can understand because of vibration and some reseating may need to be done. If it is the quality of the cable the issue, what does the forum recommend for quality SAS cables ? Thanks. lsi 9211-8i is the card I am presently using.
  13. I am looking for suggestions on the best positioning on the PCIe cards and a question about Pool devices vs Unassigned drives for my NVMe. Here are some specs to help the discussion UnRaid: 6.12.4 Board : ROG CROSSHAIR VII HERO CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core @ 3700 MHz PCIe Slot 1 (PCIe 3.0 x16/x8) -- Graphics card for Plex - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER PCIe Slot 3 (PCIe 3.0 x8/x4) -- 10GB Broadcom card PCIe Slot 5 (PCIe 2.0 x4/x3) -- SAS9211-8I 8PORT NVMe M.2_1(Socket 3) Question 1 For the PCIe slots : are there changes in positioning I should consider. It is my understanding from the documentation of the MB that M2 slots will be at PCIE3.0 X4 because of the AMD 2nd gen and therefore occupying all 3 slots does not relatively impact performance. Am I right in my thinking ? Question 2 At the moment Pool devices is 2 SSD 1TB and I have 1 NVMe in the unassigned devices. I have room to add another SSD to modify my shares accordingly. 2 SSD 1TB -- Should be used for appdata (Dockers) -Primary storage - Cache The NVMe -- Used for VM Disks. The new SSD to be used for downloads. The question I have -- Should I move the NVMe to Pool devices or leave under Unassigned devices? Thanks NB Server Plex, file share and dockers. other option is to buy a new board MSI PRO B550M-VC WiFi ProSeries Motherboard With 4 pcie slots
  14. Found the offending plugin. It is the GPU statistics plugin. I have removed it. Corrected the display issue. Reinstalled problem was back. So temporarily I have decided to remove it.
  15. Confirmed that safe mode, display was alright. Now to find offending plugin !!
  16. Just an fyi... if this is not the place then let me know. Display issues with this release. I have attached a few screenshots to demonstrate.
  17. Thank you so much for this ! Definitely and least expensive to get a MACos box going! I followed all the instructions in the Video and start off the VM. Unfortunately all I get is the APPLE ICON ... and then that is it. Left it on for the night .. still nothing. Anyone has an idea what the issue may be? NB: this happens for all versions available in macinabox. Thank you.
  18. All right then... Yep you cannot use the path in VM Manager but you can manually add the path to the VM you are creating. The installation is failing and when I only enter the path it is not seeing all the ISO files. So seems that I still have an issue.
  19. Yes that is correct. Using the Unassigned Devices plugin and yes server2 can see the files when I click on the mounted share
  20. I have two unraid servers and I created a share for all my ISO files on server 1. On server 2 I created a remote share to that ISO share. However when I go in VM Manager to assign the path of the ISOs to that share, it is not listed and adding it manually VM Manager does not recognize the path. Is there something I misconfigured? Is this a limitation of VM Manager? I really do not want to create two ISO folders on two different servers. Thank you.
  21. All right, I thought I had figured the issue but clearly not. I end up getting it to work but takes several reboots (hard and soft). What makes it working is activating and disabling: IOMMU group 14: [10de:1cb3] 0c:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP107GL [Quadro P400] (rev a1) [10de:0fb9] 0c:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation GP107GL High Definition Audio Controller (rev a1) I activate the pair, deactivate and after a while it works Here is the symptom after every unraid upgrade Click on the NVidia Driver plugin and go to settings, the GUI is unresponsive to the point I end up getting an error message page unresponsive. The only way I can restart the system is by doing SSH to the box and sudo reboot -f... sometimes this does not even work and I need to hard reset. Hope the diagnostics will give a clue, tower-diagnostics-20220810-1714.zip
  22. Yeah, it is the changes I did in the ui and probably tinkered in the config files somewhere, which is why I am getting invalid ethernet configs! Thanks for the information. I have copied the key and super.dat on the new usb. Will send request to reregister with new USB (2nd time this year, last time USB died on me)
  23. Thanks, upgraded to Version: 6.11.0-rc3 and it did remove the error message for the CPU. Now if I can find the damn ETH error messages and where it is coming from would be nice. Back to my original message however, All I need is to recreate a USB, I do not need the drive.cfg file? This will permit me to recover all my files?
