  1. Just wondering, do i have to use the most recent one from http://slackware.cs.utah.edu/pub/slackware/slackware-14.0/slackware/d/ which would be perl-5.16.1-i486-1.txz or can I use the most recent one from http://slackware.cs.utah.edu/pub/slackware/slackware-current/slackware/d/ which would be perl-5.18.1-i486-1.txz ?
  2. That makes no real sense since I have no problems to connect to the machine via Putty at any times (like I stated in my first post)
  3. Hm besides from my Windows Computer and my HTPC, there are no other machines in the LAN my unRAID machine is in. But I'll try that as soon as I get home from work and will report back. Thanks in advance, Joe! €dit: So I'm finally home and I checked this setting and it was already set to "Yes". Got another idea?
  4. This problem occurs totally random. When I want to enter one of my shares of my unraid machine from my windows computer, the following error pops up Basically it's saying something about a network error and that it's not able to access the share. What I do then, is start putty, connect to my unraid machine, exit putty again and then I'm able to access my shares without a problem. At least for a while. The error will occur again after a while and can be fixed the same way as before. So yea, would be cool if someone has a solution for this ...running unRAID 5.0-rc5 btw
  5. testparm -s €dit: It works! After I ran the testparm -s command I tried to access the two shares again and now it works without a problem. Thank you so much, Joe!
  6. ls -l /mnt/boot mount I tried to re-run the script and also did the newperms /mnt/user/Downloads thing, but still no change
  7. Hey there, I've recently upgraded my server from 4.7 to 5.0-rc5. After that I ran the "New Permissions" Util. Now to my problem. I got several user shares which span over my 3 data drives Movies TV Shows Music Pictures Downloads pyLoad I can access all of them without a problem, I just can't access the "Downloads" one. Also, I'm not able to access my flash drive share. I've set "Local Master" to Yes, and checked the rest of the SMB settings. Everything looks fine. I also did "ls -al ../mnt/user" via telnet, to check the permissions, which looked like this So right now I pretty much have no clue why all shares work just fine except the "Downloads" one and the one regarding my flash drive. Oh, the error msg I get looks like this Sorry about the fact that it's german
  8. Hello all I've just finished building my first unRAID server. I'm running version 4.7 and I currently have 3x WD20EARS drives installed (without jumpers but formatted using the -A option in the preclear_disk.sh script). I've read the unRAID configuration Tutorial in the wiki and kinda at the end it says you should disable unsecure protocols like telnet. I've installed openssh and the only user I have right now is the root user (since I'm using the free version of unRAID atm). So my question is - How much sense does it make to disable telnet and if it does make sense, how to disable it? Thanks in advance
