  1. Hello, I am having trouble finding a good guide on making a container for unraid, aimed at someone with 0 experience in the matter. I am currently running a VM for Windows Server for 1 piece of sotware (Homeseer) and cannot find a pre build container, which leaves me fending for myself. The problem is every guide I find seems to be aimed at an experienced user with dockers. or for another system like the raspberry pi, and i am finding it all very confusing. Homeseer has a downloadable tar on there website with all the needed files for a linux environment. there are a few prereqs needed before installing. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
  2. Hello UNRAID forums, I am a new user and seem to be kind of fumbling my way through unraid, Maybe changed a few settings which made things act funny, made things disapear, having performance issues. So some issues I have been having is array speeds, maybe I am expecting to much. Coming from freenas I am used to a downstream of 100mb+ , unraid i am getting around 20-40mb. write speeds jump high to around 110mb for a few gigabytes then plummet to below 10 I have some docker containers running, everytime i reboot the containers disapear and i need to re-install them, however there settings remain. so its a simple task. I am switching from Freenas to Unraid so that i essentially can combine 3 machines in the house into 1. (Freenas, Windows Server, Openelec HTPC) What I am looking for in this post is for someone to direct me the best way to setup my unraid installation for best performance. What am I doing with unraid --------------------------------- VMs - VYoS, Libreelec,Windows Server VYoS - Router/Firewall Obviously, Am Passing an INTEL 4x1GB PCI-E Network Controller Libreelec - To replace my Openelec HTPC, Will be passing through USB device for boblight, and discrete GPU, Would also like to passthrough a bluray drive, but VM hangs on POST when trying to pass the drive Windows Server - Running Homeseer, there is a linux version available on there website, I would really like to run this in a docker container, but am finding that a good guide for unraid containers hard to find. Also running INSYNC but there are dockers available for this ------------------------------- Dockers - McMyAdmin (Minecraft Server), Couch Potato, Sickbeard, SABNZBD, Would like Homeseer but can't find a container, and am left more confused everytime i try to figure it out. ---------------------------------- Hardware - 1x 1TB SSHD WD Black 2x 80GB SSD (Older Intel drives) 4x HDD Ranging from 2tb - 4tb, -------------------------------- Passthrough- Sending GPU and Arduino to Libreelec Sending USB Insteon PLM to Windows Server for Home Seer (i would really rather have this in a docker) *Trying to send BluRay to Libreelec, hangs at memcheck What drive(s) should I be using for caching? What shares should be using what drives? ETC I do not have alot of data on the array and have a local backup so wiping the array is an option Thanks guys for you're help
  3. I currently have a couple of VMs auto loading when the machine boots. one of which is VyOS which i am using as my router/firewall. The other 2 are Libreelec and Windows Server 2016. Is there anyway I can autoload Libreelec and WS16 on a delay? I would like them to wait 5 minutes after unraid boots so that VyOS has time to load.
  4. Sold. hope you get a commission.
  5. Hello, I am currently on Trial and cannot find a 100% sure answer on the board, everything seems to be accompanied by 'should be'. I am using unraid -> vyos as my router/firewall. currently on trial looking to purchase a license. but at the moment it NEEDS internet connectivity to check the license, to load the array, to boot the VM. If this feature removed with a paid license or does it need to validate every time the unit boots. This is kind of a make or break feature as my internet access remains down until the VM boots.
  6. Hello, I am a new user to unraid and i have googled and googled this issue and cannot seem to find a proper resolution. Only Success: When using VNC Emulated Display ---------------------------------------- The Problem; When selecting NVIDIA GT520 as my GPU Option Starting openelecVM shows OPENELEC splash and shows version at the top. _ blinks for a few seconds then stops. at this point the entire machine locks up, all VMs stop, web interface stops, ssh stops, the primary monitor login: _ continues to blink but will no longer accept keyboard input. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What have I tried: I have tried booting via openelec template, and Custom VM following this guide https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=44683.0 w/+w/o PCIE Overide enabled/disabled w/ +w/o <qemu:arg value='-cpu'/> <qemu:arg value='host,kvm=off'/> w/ +w/o manually specifying my rom through the VM This is the gpu http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/110145/zotac-gt520-1024-110719 --------------------------------------------- UPDATE: I have gotten windows server to output display to the GT520 however the device is coming up as Microsoft Display Adapter. the GT520 audio/video are the only devices in its group(3)
