  1. I didn't find any information about preclear times for 10TB IronWolf drives before I started mine, so here it is for those interested. 4 drives precleared at the same time on the SAS3 (12Gbps) via Broadcom 3008 SW controller on SuperMicro X11SSL-CF.
  2. Alright, everything is installed and all 4 drives are now preclearing at ~250MB/s. I switched out the Gigabyte 1050 Ti for a MSI 1050 Ti that has a power connector and it works just fine. One issue is with the hdd's and the hdd bracket in the Node 804. Seagate doesn't have the middle screw position on the IronWolf drives. I can only attach the drives using the top screw hole and so the drives are kinda dangling in there. I'll need to figure out how to secure them properly, even though the case isn't gonna get removed from the tv cabinet. Hopefully we won't have any earthquakes in the meantime By the way, the IPMI feature on the motherboard is awesome!
  3. My bad, I didn't update the OP. I actually bought this one: https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N105TOC-4GD#kf I'm fairly certain this won't work, will just return it and get something with a power connector.
  4. Alright, I went ahead and ordered the stuff and it's already in transit. However, a lightbulb went on in my head when I was thinking about configuring the system and I think I might have a problem.. The GPU has no physical power connector, the card draws its power from the PCIe slot. Now, the PCIe x16 slot on the motherboard is only configured for x8 and so I wonder if it will be able to supply enough power to the card.. Wikipedia says: Anyone got some information on this?
  5. I was thinking that I'd use the bigger one for cache and dockers and the other one as an unassigned disk for the VM's. The performance hit from using only 8x is negligible. The tests I looked at showed 1% difference when using the same card in 8x vs 16x. It wouldn't be a problem either way since this is in no way intended to be a gaming rig, I've already got a desktop for that. I was mainly thinking about being able to do in-game tournament spectating on the tv this system will be hooked up to. I looked at the videos linked by @bjp999 and I think a hyperthreaded quad core cpu will suffice. There will be reasonable offset. You're right, I don't like it one bit. I've waited quite a bit to upgrade my current setup, and there are always some newer and better parts in the pipelines. I also don't want to sit and wait for everything Ryzen related to become stable..
  6. Hi! The time for an upgrade has finally come and the joy of picking out new parts has me excited beyond measure. This build will serve to combine my old unRAID NAS and my HTPC to a single box, so I will be doing virtualization for the latter. Now, I am by no means an expert on server grade hardware.. so here I am, looking to you for guidance. On the server side of things I will be running a few dockers, most notably Plex. At this moment in time I want to be able to do about 4 or 5 concurrent transcodes. For the virtualization I want to run a Windows 10 VM that will handle some gaming and run Plex Media Player. My understanding is that I will need a CPU with an integrated GPU and then a dedicated video card for the VM passthrough, so I chose a Xeon E3-1275 v6 and a GTX 1050 Ti that will be outputting 4K/60 resolution. I will have 2 SSD's, one for cache and dockers, the other one for VM's. Is that the recommended setup, or should I run dockers and VM's off the same SSD, leaving the other SSD for cache only? Here is the parts list. Any advice is greatly appreciated. 7. I'm having the same problems as joyless after the last update. {duration} => Expression yields empty value: Binding "duration": Unable to load library 'mediainfo': Native library (linux-x86-64/libmediainfo.so) not found in resource path ([file:/usr/share/filebot/FileBot.jar]) {duration} => Expression yields empty value: Binding "duration": Could not initialize class net.filebot.mediainfo.MediaInfoLibrary
  8. Alright, thanks for the comments. I'll go ahead and order me some delicious 8TB drives then
  9. Hey I couldn't find any info on the supermicro website, so I contacted their support and they said that my AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 would not work with 8TB drives. However, I'm pretty sure I've seen some signatures on here that included this card along with some 8TB's. Can anyone confirm for me that I can add 8TB drives to my array using this controller?
  10. Your dropbox link doesn't work. It still doesn't detect folders that uTorrent moves or folders that I drag and drop into /finished. And it does no processing to make it miss it, just sits on "Waiting for changes". The only thing that the recursive update has changed is that now you get a double process within the same folder after unraring, because the unraring process creates a new folder. And Filebot has already moved the unrared file from the new folder, so the second processing ends with "No files selected for processing Failure (°_°)" . It worked fine as it was before. (I tested this out with ruTorrent) ruTorrent docker still works fine and triggers the watcher with either files or folders. I've tried: Make uTorrent move completed folders to the ruTorrent /finished directory, the one that works with everything if ruTorrent moves the folder. Didn't trigger processing. Drag and drop folders into watched directory through Windows Explorer. Didn't trigger processing. Use MC to move a create a folder and move it into the watched directory. Didn't trigger processing. Use MC to create a folder in the watched directory. That did trigger processing. Use Windows Explorer to create a folder in the watch directory. That did trigger processing. So somehow the only process that moves folders and triggers it is the ruTorrent "AutoMove". Nothing else can move a folder and trigger it. Maybe the simplest solution is just to move to ruTorrent
  11. Alright, I updated with the 3 new UGID values. Now I can move/rename/delete the file, even though it shows root:root. I'm guessing this is because of 0000? root@Tower:/mnt/cache/tv/Hannibal/Season 03# ls -l total 960489 -rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 982579115 Jun 26 06:40 Hannibal\ -\ 3x04\ 720p\ -\ Aperitivo.mkv root@Tower:~# id -u nobody 99 root@Tower:~# id -g nobody 100 Now I only have one more problem. I run uTorrent 2.2.1 on my windows machine and it downloads to /cache/.apps/utorrent/temp and moves completed files to /utorrent/finished. Filebot doesn't pick up any folders that get dropped off into /finished, only files. So if it's /finished/hannibal.3x04.mkv, then it gets processed. But if it's /finished/FOLDER/hannibal.3x04.mkv, then nothing happens and watcher just stays on "Waiting for changes...". Doesn't even work if I drag and drop a folder into /finished. However, if I run ruTorrent docker and point Filebot to /rutorrent/finished, then everything that ruTorrent moves to that directory gets processed completely fine. I know I could just move to ruTorrent, but I like uT's queueing and RSS system better. Any idea why this is happening?
  12. Alright, I followed your instructions. Before it gave me this message: Now it gives me this one:
  13. I can't remove/edit any files or folders that filebot has created since it runs as root:root, is it possible to change this?
  14. Hi, again. I seem to have a problem with the network graph under Stats->System stats. I remember that it worked fine when I first installed, but I haven't visited the stats page in a while so I don't know when it broke.
