  1. My 5.0.5 beeps when up. It has been great. The user shares are really nice.
  2. Update: Server has been rock solid for almost 3 years now. The SSD being used only for the movie metadata died, and was replaced with the spare WD20EARS in the box, bringing the current usable to 21TB. Today I upgraded it to 5.05, pulled all the disks and cleaned the case and fans out, and it is running again. One of the Seagate 2TB disks failed pretty early on and was replaced. No other failures or issues have been had. Plans: There are 2 open disk bays, so at some point they will be filled with 3TB disks. One for parity and one for data. That should be 26TB which will last for a few more years.
  3. I did finally reboot tonight but wanted to share that the box has been perfectly stable.
  4. fourth and final syslog.4.txt
  5. System details can be found here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=11147.0 Server has been up 74 days. It took me that long to add 10% of the total volume size. The whole 10.5 TB of data has been added since this box was built late last year, and I have had zero problems. I just kept taking it down to make changes for a while. unRAID version is 4.7 final. This is a great mobo for someone wanting 8 onboard SATA ports. The only things I would change if doing over is I would get an Atom or Fusion mobo, one with remote console like the Supermicro (cannot think of what they call it). I run this box headless. But I would not hesitate to use this board again. It has exceeded my expectations. FYI to make the messages file fit, I had to strip out duplicate file messages, along with errors from a few "rmdir *" commands I ran do clean up empty dirs. This was done by running: egrep -v " duplicate object:"\|"Directory not empty" syslog >syslog.u I then split the syslog.u file into four files using the split command, renamed them syslog.[1-4].txt, and uploaded. syslog.1.txt
  6. I have no idea what this OCD thing is.
  7. I don't think I disabled USB3, and the boot device was in the rear USB3 ports for a while. I had to change the device type for both SATA buses. At first the SATAIII ports came up as IDE. I don't recall what else I changed, not a lot. Boot device, fan settings, not much else.
  8. Absolutely there are and have been disks on the SATAIII ports since day 0. No issues at all. Only thing that has kept me from the Level 1 on this board is I keep changing stuff and taking it down. But trust me when I say I have had zero issues with this board.
  9. One thing to note about the new Icy Dock's with the "smart" fan control is that when the web page says powered on, it literally means the power button for the individual disk is powered on. If you have a disk in it and it is on (enabled for use effectively) the fan never shuts off. Even when unRAID spins the disks down. If I had understood this I wouldn't have went the route I did. Trayless 5-in-3's would have been my choice.
  10. I noticed the clicking then spinning down more after upgrading to 35 also. Only issue has been one of the eight died during initial preclear. The replacement has precleared three times with zero issues.
  11. I think it will clear. Here is my old Sonata with an SNT 4-in-3.
