  1. I checked the page on the mellonox website and it does support ehternet mode, I just cant find a way of forcing it to be in that mode as the only way i have found is put it in a windows machine set it to eth mode then plug it into unraid
  2. Hi so i just got my hands on a HP MHQH29B-XTR from ebay as i wanted to go 10gbit ethernet between my nas and my main pc. Sadly the car doesnt display in unraid outside of the PCI devices. I was heoping somone could help, I read a few pages from other people and they manage to get it working but im wondering if support for these cards has been dropped due to their age. I have connected it to a windows machine and the card displays fine and i have set it to use ethernet mode as the default, Still now show in unraid. I then flashed the card from HP firmware to stock firmware and still the same issue. Do i need to set a flag or something in unraid to make it work in ethernet mode. (rev b0) At a guess the part that is cutoff is the fact it is in a 4x pcie slot and not an X8. There are a total of 4 ethernets onboard all 4 of them are intel, 2 of them are bondded the other to get passed through to VM. aurelionsol-diagnostics-20181020-1810.zip
  3. I dont know if you can even do this or if I am going about this wrong but here goes. I have 4 onboard ethernet cards all of which support passthrough and what I want to do is have one passed through to a vm plus the virtual one provided by Xen and the idea is have it so the virtual one is only used to communicate with the array and the passed through one handle everything else. The reason for this is the vm in question has handles plex, Transmission, MySQL and Btsync and I want it to have it's own dedicated ethernet. Yes I know I can just bond them but I dont have a switcher that support that stuff. I also want to see if I can do it. Also if anyone knows of a way to have the VM communicate with the array directly then I'm all ears.
  4. The settings in the GUI are fine. Does your BIOS have anything specific for S3 state (your attached pictures don't show that) ? The error with line 330 refers to the script trying to set S3 sleep state (echo -n mem >/sys/power/state) , but somehow your system doesn't have the entry /sys/power/state. As far as I can tell the system does support S3 sleep I tried disabling deep sleep I get the same error the option suspend mode gives me the option to enable or disable I tried setting it to disabled still the same error. so I have no idea. https://gyazo.com/b149351d4712406123535b93d9e3909a The manual mentions it in the led section about it blinking when in S3 sleep which makes it sound like it does support it I may have to contact the company and ask. ftp://europe.asrock.com/Manual/E3C204-4L.pdf
  5. Not sure what settings you wanted so here are a couple of screenshots of my bios and the unraid settings. https://gyazo.com/483df571b4f80ab8597dab96b15fcf32 https://gyazo.com/a8c80d2418fcd8ed18bd46c75007bfdd https://gyazo.com/b8d6f492afa58d179c70d77148d5561a https://gyazo.com/b4ec4371f4ef02fd022ce351956acc8d
  6. Hi I am having an issue with S3 sleep. As far as I can tell my motherboard supports it and is enabled in the bios but when I click the button nothing happens and I get an error in the console saying. "/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.s3.sleep/scripts/s3_sleep: line 330: echo: write error: Invalid argument" Any ideas am I doing something wrong or does my system just not like S3 if so any posability of S1 or S4 sleep? 7. I just tried connecting the drives to a Adaptec ASC-39160 again the device displays on the device list but the drives don't show in unraid. I'm using latest version of unraid version 6.0 beta 12. Is unraid no longer compatible with scsi hard drives or am I missing something.
  8. Do I need to flash to card to a different version or something. It shows in lspci as a lsi mega raid card but it is a scsi card not a sas card so I don't know what to flash it with
  9. I bought a Dell TD977 4e/DC cheap from ebay and the card is working fine and there are 2 15k rpm drives in raid 0 and the logical drive shows in the bios but not in unraid all my other drives which are connected on the onboard sata are fine and the controller is detected when I use the lspci command but the drives don't show. Is the controller not compatible or am I not allowed to use raid's or something as because I have 2 emulated os's running on the cache drive I wanted to use these drives as they are much faster than normal sata drives and the drives were kinda just sitting around and I wanted to use them.
  10. Hi I want to basically turn 3 computers into 1 big one as this saves power money and time. My unraid nas My game server Bitcoin mining host The motherboard http://www.asrock.com/server/overview.asp?cat=Manual&Model=C226%20WS Has good PCI spacing for the Bitcoin miners good amount of sata ports and good cpu support unsure about iommu support but says it has Intel visualization support. The CPU http://ark.intel.com/products/75464/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E3-1275-v3-8M-Cache-3_50-GHz Powerful has on chip gpu Ram 4gb of crucial ecc ram will take it up to 8gb or maybe 16gb depends on money Hdds 2x 2tb seagate barracuda drives for data 1x 320gb Toshiba laptop drive for cache and 1x 200gb western digital drive for the other os's (will probably replace this with a ssd) PSU corshair 750 watt 80+ bronze will be replaced at a later date when needed. Case http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SA-005-OP&groupid=2362&catid=2740 Now im unsure weather to have unraid as the host or debian as both have pros and cons. Unraid as host pros Hard drive's easly set up Low system overhead Cons No idea weather the Bitcoin miners can be passed through or not Game server's may not run as fast Debian pros No pci's need to be passed through Game server will run normally Cons Passing through the hard drives and setting them up will be a pain Usb passthough may not work properly meaning plus/pro key may not work Not sure weather this will be possible but the motherboard has 2 Ethernet controller's and I want to passthrough one of them to the guest os and leave one to the host but still have a bridge between them as plex will be running on Debian and having it read the videos over the Ethernet then send them back over the Ethernet is a waste of bandwidth The reason I want to do this is to make sure there are no ping issues on the game servers also unraid does not take to much bandwidth and cause lag on the game servers also I get twice the bandwidth. I know I could use bonding but i tend to get a lot of issues when I do. As in it just don't work or the guest OS is unable to get an IP and doesn't generally connect properly. Any comment's or ideas will be much appreciated.
  11. Thanks for the help I will give this a try as soon as i get my new hardware which is in about 2 or 3 weeks and I will let you know how it went.
  12. Ok good but I know v5 tracks the hard drives and I want to change one of the drives the drive is currently unused it is in the share but there is no information on it so how would I change it.
  13. Hi apologies for not giving enough info. i am currently running unraid server version 5.0 plus license I have 6 drives Installed 5 for data 1 for cache no parity drive ye I know it not recommended not to have a parity drive. The only things that are changing is the motherboard and cpu everything else will remain the same. The reason for this is the mb is getting a little old the Ethernet doesn't work properly anymore it does not do gigabit anymore and sometimes the the board just fails to boot for no reason.
  14. In the near future I plan on changing motherboard and cpu as the current one isn’t doing so good these days but I will be using the same hard drives apart from adding 1 new one and removing a currently unused drive now am going to be able to just change this and sort out a few settings then get all my data or am I going to have to take all the data off the nas then put all back on again.
  15. We got a little off topic but along as there are no problems with the hardware I'm using and unraid will run fine on it then all is well. as for the smaller hard drives they will eventually be all removed as probably when i get the new mb and cpu i will be adding another 2tb and removing the 200gb drive. However I have a question the 80gb hard drive is use as a cache drive and has pending cahe on it and also there are a few apps I have install that use the cache drive like serviio so how would I go about changing the drive as I want to upgrade it to a faster and larger drive.
