  1. Over the weekend my flash drive failed. Everything has been running fine for years so I am a little rusty on the process. I plugged the old flash drive into my mac and can see most the files. I ran first aid on the drive and it passed but still wont boot. I got a new flash drive and installed the latest release on it. The machine is now booting fine but I am nervous to start the array as it says that the parity drive will be erased. I believe that I have backups stored on the array but don't want to accidentally erase them by starting it. I also have a backup on Unraid connect that I can restore, Do I just copy those files to the usb or do I need to use the USB creator software to write the zip file to the new usb drive? I am really just looking for any guidance or to be pointed to a good to tutorial on the best way to get back up and running without any data loss. -Thanks
  2. i know this is a long shot but I am hoping that someone can walk me through getting the below project running. It is a Docker container that polls my electric meter and publishes the data to MQTT. I am familiar with using Dockers, just not building them. I am on the latest version of Unraid and have Portainer-CE installed. https://github.com/zaknye/xcel_itron2mqtt
  3. I did get a warning about the image being full. I still need to track down what that was, maybe plex.
  4. That seems to have fixed it. Reinstalling dockers now. What causes this and is there a way to prevent it?
  5. Diagnostics attached, thanks for the quick reply. homeserver-diagnostics-20211215-0927.zip
  6. I noticed that docker wasn't running on my unraid server. Checked the logs and noticed a number of errors on startup. I am hoping that someone can help me trouble shoot this. Attached are the logs. I am particularly interested in this error. Dec 14 16:46:03 HomeServer kernel: loop: Write error at byte offset 38899712, length 4096. Dec 14 16:46:03 HomeServer kernel: blk_update_request: I/O error, dev loop2, sector 75968 op 0x1:(WRITE) flags 0x1800 phys_seg 4 prio class 0 Dec 14 16:46:03 HomeServer kernel: BTRFS error (device loop2): bdev /dev/loop2 errs: wr 1, rd 0, flush 0, corrupt 0, gen 0 This unraid 6.9.2 on an older i7 processor with 4 drives in an array and a SSD cache drive. homeserver-syslog-20211215-1610.zip
  7. Currently looking at the WD 8TB external drives to shuck. One for parity and one for the Array. Does anyone see any issues with these? Also, can I do the preclear while they are still in the external cases? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-easystore-8tb-external-usb-3-0-hard-drive-black/5792401.p?skuId=5792401
  8. Yes, sorry about that. It is the remote-ssh extension. It allows me to open file on a remote machine over ssh.
  9. I am new to development but have this up and running. I am trying to access files on a raspberry pi. With vs code there is a plugin that does this over ssh and works great. How can I get the same functionality with this code-server docker?

How can I get the same functionality with this code-server docker? I realize code-server has its own marketplace but haven’t found an equivalent.
  11. My server is back up with a new cache drive but I’m wondering what the best way to make sure I don’t lose my dockers and vms again. Should I move appdata to the pool? Do some sort of backup of appdata? If I add a second cache drive do they mirror each other?
  12. I needed to get the server back up so I replaced the cache drive. I'll look into getting the data off the old drive from the above link. Any additional help appreciated.
  13. I tried new cables and got the errors that I screenshot, the attached log and the same "unmountable" error that I had before. I am going to lose everything on the cache drive? I've got time tomorrow to replace it but I would rather not lose everything that was on it. homeserver-diagnostics-20190326-1319.zip
  14. I noticed some VMs and Dockers weren't working so I logged into the server and the cache drive doesn't have a file system and cant be mounted. Attached is the diagnostic file, I'll look into getting a SMART report for that drive also. Mods: I posted a very similar thread the other day without diagnostics, please delete that. homeserver-diagnostics-20190321-1917.zip
