  1. It has not been sorted out. I sent an email early last week - not sure why it was not received as I did not get a bounce message. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kevin
  2. Should I post this in a differnt forum?? Usually the responses are a little faster at this site. Just wondering if I made a mistake. Kevin
  3. Here is the devices file. It would not let me add it to the original post. Kd
  4. It has been an interesting week. Here are the details: - Flash drive failed - does not respond at all (tried several PC's) - One data drive failed - heard a nasty clicking sound when rebooting, a great example of murphys law.... - Backup flash drive installed and working - I do NOT have the original configuration files (rookie mistake - should have copied this whenever I made a change to the array....) - I know the locations for the drives as they have been installed from the top down - Drive 2 is the drive that has died. - Running Unraid 4.1 (although originally was running 3.x) I have attached screenshots of the devices page and main page as well as the disk.cfg file. See reply for the last attachment as the combined size was greater than the attachment limit for the forum. Questions: - Is it as simple as swapping in the replacement drive and assigning it to device 2? - How do I bring the array on-line without rebuilding the parity drive and initiate rebuild of drive 2? - What am I missing?? Thanks for the help. Kevin
  5. Situation is getting worse - my system does not recognize the second USB stick. I get the same error no matter which USB port is used - 'Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Bott Media in selected Boot device and press a key' I even tried another USB drive with Unraid basis - same results. The BIOS sees the memory stick and I have set the boot device accordingly. I have even tried other setups just to see if I get a different result - the only result is one in which nothing happens at all - a step backward...
  6. Usb stick (Sony) has died. I did purchase the license for a second usb stick. Unfortunately, the configuration on this stick is not current. What is the best course of action going forward? I would like to save the data on my drives and can rebuild parity drive if needed. Clearly, I would like to avoid destroying any of the data drives. A few additional details: - Was running v 3.0 (it was working fine so I never upgraded) - system recognizes new usb stick - there are 12 drives in the system - I know the id of the parity drive Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Kevin

    Promise Card

I have Promise Card (came with a maxor drive a couple of years ago). The Promise Chip is PDC20269, v2.20 B10 Can I use this? Would be nice if I could avoid ordering an IDE controller. Just don't want to wait for it to arrive. I have already moved about 2TB onto the Unraid server and I am excited to complete the data transfer. Kevin
